The Team

Octavio Garcia

Born and raised in Chicago. As a kid growing up in the 70s and 80s in America, American popular culture greatly influenced my passions for Drawing; copying my favorite Marvel and DC comic book superheroes, Cars; helping my Father repair American muscle cars for the neighborhood and Urban Art; adrenalin charged experiences with street art like tag and graffiti. I studied product design at Art Center College of Design (Europe) in Switzerland where my passion for horology began. My career as a watch designer started in 1999 with Omega watches. In 2003 I continued my design career with Audemars Piguet, first as design manager then in 2010 as Chief artistic officer driving creativity throughout the organization.

Lukas Gopp

Born and raised in Vorarlberg, Austria. In my teenage years, I spent my spare time road cycling in the Alps. A period in which the equipment used in this sport evolved at a staggering speed. From 1994 when the last steel bike frame won the Tour the France to aluminum, and soon after that carbon fiber, every material required a new way of design thinking and engineering to use its full potential. These transformations triggered my passion for design. I studied Industrial Design at the Istituto Europeo di Design and the Creative Academy in Milan. Graduated in 2003, landed my first job in Sector group, the makers of Sector sport-watches. This opportunity turned out to be the first step in a career as watch designer. Later it brought me to some of the world’s most renowned watchmakers such as IWC Schaffhausen, Ralph Lauren Watches & Jewelry Co., and Audemars Piguet.
